Man Arrested After Fatal Hit & Run

A man has now been arrested after another man was killed on Epping High Road on Saturday 6 August.

Officers were called to Epping High Road to reports of a man's body lying in the road around 6.30am Saturday 6 August.

The dead man is aged 34 and believed to be from the local area.

On Sunday 7 August, a 51-year-old man from the Woodford area was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving as well as failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.

He has subsequently been released on police bail until Sunday 6 November pending further enquiries.

Road policing officers have also recovered a Toyota Hilux.

A section of the road was closed for approximately 12 hours while forensic collision investigators and search teams conducted their enquiries.
