Man Pushed Into Car In Southend And Beaten

Essex Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Southend.

A 42 year-old man was forced into a car, thought to be a dark coloured Rover, by three men on Marine Parade, opposite the Foresters Arms pub, Southend between 3 and 3.30pm on Tuesday (Oct 7th).

He was then driven to an address in Hockley where he was seriously assaulted, leaving him requiring hospital treatment for injuries to his hand.

Investigating Officer Dc Layla Barker said: "It was a pleasant day and there would have been numerous passing cars and pedestrians about on Southend seafront at the time he was forced into the car. This was a serious assault and I urge anyone who has any information to get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Barker on short-dial 101 and ask for ext 470161. Or, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
