Max Whitlock, who lives and trains in Basildon - has been telling Heart he's thrilled to be the most successful gymnast at Glasgow 2014.

The 21 year old has won five medals - including three golds, in the team, all-round and floor. He's also won a silver and bronze.

He's been telling Heart the whole experience has been unbelievable.

"I can't believe it, it's not just me, it's the whole England squad, the whole experience has been one to remember.

"It's been really challenging, it's the first time for us that we've competed five days straight in a row, which is very tricky. But we prepared for it, we practiced for it.

"The first job was the team event, split over two days, the big target was to get the gold, and I'm very happy we did that over the men and women's.

"The next day was my biggest and proudest achievement, the all-round gold. That's amazing for me, for a gymnast to come out and perform six routines is a very hard job and I'm so happy to do it.

"Then the apparatus finals, they've been really fun, the whole experience has been so exciting and so good.

"The support I get from Essex is amazing, I couldn't ask for anymore."
