Ongar: Ex Officer On Assault Charge

A retired police officer from Essex has been charged with two counts of indecent assault against a girl under the age of 16.

84-year-old James Walter Reginald Miller, of Marks Avenue, is a retired City of London Police officer who joined the force in April 1955 and left in January 1985 at the rank of sergeant.

The charges against him relate to the time period of 1966 to 1968, City of London Police said.

Miller will appear at City of London Magistrates' Court on August 20.
