A partially blind man has been assaulted by two men in a car park in Hatfield Peverel.
It happened at around 11.05pm on Friday, December 19th.
The victim, who is 32 and lives in the local area, was walking through the car park behind the shops and doctors surgery in Hadfelda Square when he was approached by two men.
He thought the men were going to hurt him so he used one hand to push one of the men away. He was then hit in the face, causing him to fall to the floor and his glasses to fall off. The suspects then left the scene.
Investigating officer Pc Danielle Twaites said: "The victim lost his glasses and suffered two black eyes as a result of the incident. I would ask for anyone with any information about the assault or if they witnessed it to contact me. The suspects are described as white men in their late 20s. They are both of medium build and around 5ft 8ins tall.”
Anybody with any information is asked to contact Pc Twaites at Chelmsford Police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
