Rayleigh: Woman Assaulted By Man In Her Home

A woman's been assaulted by a man who broke into her home in Rayleigh.
Officers were called to the address at 2.32am on Saturday (26th April) following reports that the victim had been seriously assaulted in the property.
Police arrived at the premises shortly afterwards but the suspect had fled the scene on foot.
The victim was treated by ambulance paramedics at the scene and then taken to hospital for further treatment before being discharged.
Tmen, aged 22 and 20, who were arrested in Southend on suspicion of assisting an offender and been released on bail.
Yesterday, a 28-year-old was arrested at an address in Edmonton in North London by the Metropolitan Police. He is being questioned by police today (Monday 28 April).
Detective Inspector Julie Gowen said: "This has been a very upsetting experience for the victim; to be attacked within the safety of your own home like this was extremely distressing for her and I am sure it will take her a long time to recover from this trauma."
