A man has died following a crash in Southend.
Essex police say the driver of a silver Porsche appeared to have lost control and collided with a black Ford Focus on the A127 at about 6.35pm yesterday (Wednesday June 5th).
The man, who is in his 60s and from the Southend area, was taken to Southend General Hospital where he died.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
There is a possibility that the man was taken ill at the wheel before the collision.
One lane of the A127, near the junction with Rochford Road, was closed for about four hours while collision investigators carried out enquiries.
Any witnesses or anyone with information about the collision, should contact Pc Rob Bretell at Southend road policing unit on 101.
