Southend: Two Dead Following Car Fire

Two people have died following a car fire near Southend.

Emergency services were called to Thorpe Bay Esplanade at around 5.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 December).

The fire was put out by 5.50pm but two people died at the scene.

Essex Police say they think the two people who died are a mother and her son.

Officers believe 45 year-old Catherine Mhlaba may have started the fire which killed herself and 16 year-old Beki Ali.
