Thornwood: Investigation After Police Car Collision

30 April 2012, 11:22

An investigation has started after two police cars were involved in a collision in Thornwood, near Epping.

Part of the B1393 London Road was closed for around three and a half hours after the crash at about 5.20pm on Saturday (April 28th). It involved a Volvo estate and a Ford Focus estate.

Both vehicles were travelling to different incidents at the time. The Volvo had its sriens and blue lights on, while the Focus did not.

Two officers in the Volvo, both men aged 29 and 34, were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow to be treated. They only suffered minor injuries though and were released shortly after.

Another officer, a 30 year-old man, who was the only person in the Focus, was badly shaken but did not need to be treated in hospital.
