Two people in Harwich have been left homeless, following a house fire last night.

It broke out on Oakland Road at 7.30pm.

Firefighters were called to an end of terrace house.

When they arrived they say the ground floor and first floor were both alight. It took about 2 hours for crews to put it out.

They also used thermal image cameras to look for any remaining hotspots.

Next door was also smoke logged.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service say they will now carry out investigations to work out how it started.
