Westcliff: Police Launch Murder Investigation

Essex Police have launched a murder investigation after a man's body was found in Westcliff.
Officers entered a flat on Station Road in Westcliff shortly before 1pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 10th) following concerns for the welfare of a man inside.
Inside they found the body of man in his 50s from the Southend area.
A property remains a crime scene and a forensic examination continues.
Last night a 38-year-old man from the Southend area and a 32-year-old woman from Southend were arrested on suspicion of murder and are being questioned by detectives at separate police stations in south Essex.
A formal identification of the body is expected to take place later today and a post-mortem examination will also be undertaken in due course.
