A teenager has been charged with attempting to murder a man in Westcliff.
A 20-year-old from Rayleigh suffered a number of stab wounds on Fairfax Drive earlier this month.
18-year-old Eric Brophy, of St Mary's Road in Southend, has also been charged with GBH, ABH, and five counts of robbery.
He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates Court this morning.
A 17-year-old boy from Southend who has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed until October.
Connor Freeman, an 18-year-old carpenter from Southchurch Boulevard in Southend, was arrested earlier this month and has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident.
He is due at Basildon Crown Court on Monday 7 October.
