City Man Suffers Serious Attack Injuries
An Exeter man's recovering after being beaten and stamped on by two men in a city street.
The attack in Red Lion Lane, near Sidwell Street, was only stopped when a student spotted the incident and shouted that he was calling 999.
Police say the victim had been driven to the spot by refuse bins in a silver coloured car at about midday on Saturday.
Detective Constable Richard Booker-Williamson said if the student hadn't come along when he did the victim's injuries could have been a lot worse, if not fatal.
He praised the student for his public spirit and help.
A woman in her 40s also saw what was happening and police are keen to talk to her.
