Crunch Game For Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs face a crucial clash with Nottingham this weekend, with both teams vying for a semi-final spot in the promotion chase.

Having lost at London Welsh last time out, Exeter are still not quite guaranteed a place in the last 4, needing at least a losing bonus point to ensure their season does continue.

They will be aiming for much more than that though - a four point win would ensure they finish top of their pool, and secure them a home semi-final in the next stage of the competition.

Nottingham need to win themselves if they're to have any chance of making the semis, with Glenn Delaney's side currently in 3rd place, 5 points behind Exeter, and 3 behind London Welsh.

Nottingham of course did snatch a win against the Chiefs in the first play-off game, a result the Exeter players and coaches are keen to make amends for this time out.

They'll have to do it without Richie Baxter at Number 8 though - he's not been able to shake off an injury he picked up against London Welsh. Tom Johnson comes in at the back of the scrum in his place.

Gareth Steenson does return at Fly-Half though, with Danny Gray dropping to the bench.
