Devon Ovarian Cancer Sufferers Meet

Women from across Devon who're affected by ovarian cancer are getting together for the first time today (Friday).

A special roadshow is being held so women can hear positive stories and discuss the disease. It is featuring expert advice and lifestyle tips; workshops on beauty, diet, improving NHS services and ways to move on emotionally from cancer to make the most of your life ahead.

6, 800 people are diagnosed every year and survivor Caroline Bing, from Dartmoor, says it's important to know there are others like you: "I think one of the things you do feel when you get a diagnosis like that is really alone with it. I didn't know anybody else that had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer when I was diagnosed with it."

She continued: "It's not a really common female cancer and it really great to know that there are other people out there that have gone through a similar experience to you."
