Post Exam Stress Hits Devon

The weeks of anxious waiting are over for thousands of students across Devon with the publication of the A-Level and GCSE exam results. Many have got the grades they needed but sadly many others now face a very stressful few days as they come to terms with not being able to do the courses or jobs they wanted.

Heart's been speaking to John Davey from the Careers Service Connexions in Devon.  "This year's exam results are set against a backdrop of increased competition for university places and huge instability on the jobs market.  So it's natural for any student not getting the grades they want to feel very worried.  What we say to them is do NOT panic..you don't have to rush into the first alternative you see.  Take your time deciding what you want to do.  After all, these are big life-changing decisions you'll be making over the next few days.  We are here for you.  You can ring us, E mail us or come in and see us."
