Tourism Boost For Exeter Expected

There are predictions Exeter airport will get more tourists and a bigger choice of flights.

It's after the new government has refused to let big airports such as Heathrow increase capacity and build new runways.

It's thought it will push even more traffic out to destinations like ours.

Managing Director of Exeter Airport, Jamie Christon says, "The restrictions on new runways has really focussed in and around London, Heathrow especially, and what we see as a result of that is more capacity coming into regional airports over the next few years".

"Scheduled international flights are probably going to be the area of growth that we probably hadn't forseen and this will be flights in and out of Exeter from of the european cities that we don't currently serve."
