Young people targeted

Domestic Violence Awareness week in Devon will target young people particularly teenagers in abusive relationships.

A recent NSPCC survey found that one out of every three girls interviewed said they had been sexually assaulted by a boyfriend. In the same survey, 25% of girls and 18% of boys said they'd been hit or physically attacked by a partner.

The main aim of the campaign is to help young people understand what is acceptable in a relationship, and what is not acceptable.

The girls, aged between 12 and 15 years old worked with animator Emily Cooper to create the four minute film.

Most of the voices are the teenagers themselves who recorded their stories as part of the project. Some of the experiences have been voiced by an actress.
