Fun Festival Facts

Whether it's placing a bet, ordering a round of drinks or staying in a hotel, festival week is a massive money spinner for Gloucestershire.

Here's just a few of the facts and figures:

• Over 250,000 thousand people will attend the races over 4 days

• The event brings in around £50 million to Gloucestershire's economy, through hotel and B&B bookings, eating out and shopping.

• Over £500 million will be spent with the bookies.

• 40 coach loads of catering staff are brought into Prestbury Park each day

• During the four days 170,000 pints of Guinness will be drunk

• 125,000 pints of lager will be drunk

• 18 thousand bottles of champagne will be popped

• Plus 8,000 gallons of tea & coffee drunk

• This will wash down 3 tonnes of smoked salmon, 50,000 rounds of sandwiches, 25,000 burgers & hotdogs and 20,000 portions of chips
