Attempted armed robbery in Moreton

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a bank in Moreton in Marsh.

It happened at around 12.35pm today when two men entered the bank on the high street armed with what is believed to have been an axe.

They told staff to open a cash security box, but left with no money.

Police say no-one was injured in the incident and they want anyone who was in the town and witnessed the incident, or anyone acting suspiciously in the area, to contact them as soon as possible.
