Cancer warning for women

Just because you're young, doesn't mean you're immune

40 year old Sarah Leather-Ley from Tewkesbury is warning other young women that cancer of the womb is not just for old ladies.

Sarah was diagnosed in January this year and has already had to undergo a radical hysterectomy.  On Tuesday she starts 18 weeks of chemotherapy.

But not one to be down trodden, Sarah is vowing not to give in to the side effect lightly... she's having her head shaved apart from a bright pink Mohican.  And in the process has managed to raise an incredible £3000 for the Eve Appeal that researches gynaecological cancers.

Having recently got divorced, Sarah who now will never be able to have children of her own is bouncing back ahead of the next stage of treatment to raise funds and awareness of these conditions.

She has an inspirational story to tell... and just before the dramatic new 'hair-do' Sarah spoke to Heart's Kate Justice about how she felt when she found out and what happens next.
