Child rescue alerts

Child abduction in Gloucestershire is pretty rare, but if it did happen a special scheme would kick into life.

Today sees the re-launch of Child Rescue Alert (CRA), which is a partnership between the police, media and the public to help locate children and bring them back to safety.

If a child was taken police would alert the Heart news team who would put out regular updates on air asking for the public's help and giving out descriptions.

Detective Chief inspector Neil Kelly from Gloucestershire Police told Heart why the scheme is so vital and what's new about it:

The scheme started in Gloucestershire five years ago and has been used once in that time, with the child safely recovered.
