Churchdown: Appeal After Woman Asked To Get Into Car
17 January 2014, 10:46
Police are appealing for information after a man asked a woman to get in his car in Churchdown on Wednesday January 15th.
The incident happened as the 21-year-old woman got off a bus on Parton Road at about 6.30pm.
She crossed the road and was walking in the direction of St John's Avenue when she became aware of a silver car pulling up alongside her.
The man driving the car asked her to get in several times, prompting the woman to try to cross the road to raise the attention of a man walking a small white dog, but the driver pulled up alongside her and blocked her.
When she refused to get in the car again the man laughed and drove away in the direction of the Hare and Hounds pub.
The driver is described as a white man, in his 20s, with a skinny face and skinny arms. He had mousy brown hair which was short but not shaven on the sides and longer spiky hair on top. He was wearing a blue short sleeved top with a collar and buttons, possibly a polo shirt.
His car is described as a silver five-door hatchback model, possibly a Citroen.
Officers are exploring whether the incident is linked to a similar case in Cheltenham on Saturday (January 11) and are urging anyone who witnessed it or knows the offender to come forward. Police are also keen to speak to the dog walker.
Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident 354 of January 15..
