Husband and wife killed in crash

A husband and wife have died in a road crash in the Cotswolds.

They were in one of three cars involved in the collision on the A429 at around 3.05pm on Sunday on the A429 between Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

A 90-year-old man from Coventry, who was a passenger in the Mazda, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, 86, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by air ambulance where she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the Mazda, a 63-year-old woman from Warwickshire, was also taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, she is described as being in a stable condition but has life changing injuries. 

The two other drivers suffered minor injuries.
