Police want to hear from anyone who saw a crash that left the Air Balloon roundabout closed for over six hours.
The collision was between a black Rover 620 saloon and a red Mercedes curtain sided truck and happened at around 1.40pm on Monday.
The driver of the Rover, a 60-year-old woman from Nailsworth, was taken by ambulance to hospital but died a short while later.
The passenger in the Rover, a 35-year-old woman from Stroud, was treated at hospital for minor injuries.
The driver of the lorry, a 34-year-old man from Bicester, suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
