Royal birth in Gloucestershire

There has been a royal birth in Gloucestershire.

Autumn Phillips, the wife of the Queen's grandson Peter Phillips, gave birth to a daughter at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on Wednesday.

No news on a name yet but she weighed in at 8lbs 8oz and is now 12th in line to the throne.

The Queen says she's "delighted" after becoming a great-grandmother for the first time.

A statement from Buckingham Palace says:

"The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Autumn's family have been informed and are delighted with the news.''

The Queen's eldest grandson met his wife at the Montreal Grand Prix in 2003, they married at Windsor Castle in May 2008.
