Two men have been arrested following reports of disorder at a Hotel in Wotton Under Edge.
Police were called to the Swan Hotel in Market Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
They found a 26-year-old local man had been assaulted with a smashed glass, causing serious injury to his face. He was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol for medical treatment.
A second man, 21, also suffered a minor injury to his face in the incident.
An 18-year-old man from Slimbridge was arrested on suspicion of assault and a 23-year-old man from Dursley was arrested on suspicion of affray. Both have been bailed to return to the police station on September 14.
