3 year old hit by car

A three year old boy's been hurt after being hit by a car outside a Watford school.

The driver didn't stop after the crash outside Laurance Haines School in Vicarage Road just after 11.30am on Wednesday 2 March 2011.  The toddler suffered minor injuries.

PC Alison Elderfield from the Roads Policing Unit based at North Watford police station is investigating and said: "The only detail we have about the vehicle is that it was a white, old style car.

"I would like to make a direct appeal to the driver to contact police. I am also keen to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw what happened or anyone who has any information about the collision.

"There have been a number of collisions on Vicarage Road and I would also like to take this opportunity to remind drivers and pedestrians to take care."

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Elderfield on 0845 3300 222.
