Police have released CCTV images of a woman they want to speak to, after an elderly woman had her purse stolen in Watford.
It happened at around 4.25pm on Wednesday January 7 in Poundland on the High Street. The 86 year old victim was shopping when someone approached her and took her purse from inside her handbag when she wasn’t looking.
PC Chris Phillips is investigating and said: “This was an upsetting ordeal for the victim and I would like to find the person responsible as soon as possible.
“As part of my investigation I would like to identify the woman pictured as she may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist my inquiries. I would ask anyone who recognises her to contact me.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Phillips via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C1/15/108. Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
