"Despicable" Assault On Pensioner

Detectives are appealing for information following an assault on an elderly driver in Borehamwood.
The incident happened between 11.25am and 11.35am on Tuesday May 21st when the victim, a 76 – year-old man, was driving his silver Ford Focus along the A41 from Elstree towards Watford.
He has stopped at the roundabout junction with Elstree Road before continuing on the A41 before the driver of another vehicle, believed to be a small black car, cut in front of him causing him to stop.
The offender has then got out of his car and has approached the victim who was still in his car and has grabbed him by the throat and punched him in the mouth causing injuries.
The offender is described as a man aged about thirty, of stocky build with dark brown short hair. He was wearing a shirt and tie, and a jacket.
PC Glen Hawkins, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a despicable assault and we are keen to speak with anyone who may know who this man is, or who may have any information to come forward. We are particularly keen to speak to motorists in the area at the time as we believe some motorists may have witnessed this incident.”
