An eighth man was released with no further action taken.

They are next due to appear at St Albans Magistrates Court on Friday 13 February.

Superintendent Sue Jameson, who leads the Constabulary's response to football matches, said:

"These charges are a continuation of our commitment to responding to football related violence.  The fight occurred in front of people enjoying an evening out in the town, who genuinely feared for their safety.

This is not the type of behaviour people should experience when they visit Watford and I hope this reassures the community that we will do all in our power to keep Watford a safe place."

Last week (Monday, Jan 12) eleven men were charged in connection with disorder which occurred in Watford prior to, and after, the Watford FC v Bolton Wanderers football match on 9 August 2014.

They are awaiting trial.
