Herts Mum Set Challenge To Repay Air Ambulance

Luca Vukovich In Hospital After Being Hit By A Van

A mother from Berkhamsted is trekking along the Great Wall of China for 7 days to pay back Herts Air Ambulance who helped save her sons life.

Rebecca Vukovich says she experienced a parents worst nightmare in June last year when she got a call to say her son had been involved in a collision.

10 year old Luca was at the park near his home when he was hit by a van, severely breaking both his legs.

Hertfordshire Air Ambulance were called and the medical team were able to give him strong pain numbing medication and straighten his legs giving him the best possible chance of a full recovery.

He was then flown to the Royal London Hospital.

Every time the Herts Air Ambulance makes a journey it costs £2,500 so Rebecca has set herself a challenge to raise a least £5,000.

This will repay the cost of Lucas flight but will then also fund another potentially life saving journey.

In October she'll trek the Great Wall of China for 8 hours a day for 7 days.
