Police are searching for a man who indecently exposed himself to a woman in St Albans.
The girl, in her 20s, was walking along Sandpit Lane at around 10:30pm last Wednesday night (July 16) when it happened. She was near the junction of Clarence Road.
A man who was in front of her turned round and indecently exposed himself. He spoke to her before she crossed the road to get away from him.
The man then turned around again and continued away on foot. He didn't try to follow the woman.
The man's described as white, aged between 30 and 40 and of medium build. He had dark brown hair, which was spiked with a gel-like product. He was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt with a white or light-coloured motif centred on the front of it.
PC James Irlen is investigating and said: “The victim has been left understandably shaken by what happened and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to make contact with police.
“It is believed there were a number of people in the road directly before and after the incident and so I would urge any such people, who remember seeing someone acting unusually or suspiciously, to contact me straight away.
“If you believe you know the identity of the man, please call me.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Irlen via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency 101, citing crime reference F1/14/2316. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
