Man Arrested Over Sexual Assaults In Hatfield

A man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out two sexual assaults on women in Hatfield.
The first woman was sexually assaulted on Monday (2nd June) on a footpath between Lemsford Lane and St Albans Road West, near to the junction with St Peters Close.
The 20 year old was approched from behind and hit over the head before the assault at 10pm.
She managed to push him off and he ran away.
The second was two days later on Wednesday (4th June).
The woman, who was also 20 years old, was walking on a footpath close to St Luke's Church in St Albans Road East just after 10pm.
She was listening to music using her earphones when a man grabbed her, tripped her over and sexually assaulted her on the ground.
The victim shouted for help and he ran off.
The police are still keen to speak to anyone who has any information about either of these incidents.
Detective Superintendent Pete Fulham said: "I would like to speak to anyone who believes they may have witnessed these incidents or has been approached by a man in the area in similar circumstances to contact us."
