Man Attacked By Dog In St Albans

A man has needed stitches after he was attacked by a dog in St Albans.

It happened on Thursday, July 24th at around 8.30am in Verulamium Park. The victim, a 38 year old man, was jogging through the park when a man approached him with two dogs.

One of the dogs jumped up causing the victim to fall to the floor. The dog then bit him on the mouth before the offender walked off.

He suffered a cut to his mouth which needed stitching.

The man with the dogs is described as white, aged around 50 years old and of a medium build. He had grey hair and stubble on his face and was smoking.

The dogs are described as being similar to Tibetan Mastiffs.

PC Meg Sheppard from St Albans police station is investigating and said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the park or surrounding area that morning and saw the incident or saw the man with his dogs prior to or following the incident to contact me with information. I am also very keen to hear from anyone who believes they may know who the offender is."
