Man Punched And Kicked Over Cigarettes

A man has been repeatedly punched and kicked by robbers who stole a packet of cigarettes in Hemel Hempstead.

Detectives are appealing for information after the incident, which happened at around midnight on Friday night / early on Saturday morning (July 5th – 6th) when the victim had been walking along Lamsey Road when he was confronted by three white men.

 

One of the men asked the victim if he could have a cigarette, to which he was told he couldn’t, a second offender then appeared and the victim was punched and kicked repeatedly in the stomach and back before the men then made off with the victim’s packet of cigarettes.

 

 

The first male is described as being white, aged around 25 years old and around 6ft tall. He had a goaty beard and was wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans. He spoke with an Irish accent.

 

 

The second male had dark hair worn in a flat top style. He is around 5ft 6 inches tall and was wearing a black t-shirt with horizontal light stripes and dark jeans. He is aged around 20 years old.

 

 

The third male has blond hair, is about 5ft 6 inches tall and is aged about 20 years old and is of a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans and a light coloured t-shirt.

 

 

They were also carrying a black and white hockey stick.

 

 

DS Laurie Rush, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a nasty robbery which resulted in the victim sustaining some serious injuries. I am appealing to anyone who may have information on these men to get in touch with us immediately."
