A 25 year old man has been robbed and stabbed several times in an unprovoked attack in Watford.

It happened on Sunday night (9th March) as the victim was walking in Hagden Lane around 11:30pm.

He was walking towards the station when he was approached from behind by a man wearing a balaclava who asked him to turn out his pockets.

The man handed over his phone and was then stabbed a number of times by the offender who then ran away.

Detective Constable Andrea Warren is investigating and said:

“This was a totally unprovoked assault but thankfully the victim is not seriously injured and will make a full recovery.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened or saw anyone acting suspiciously before or after this time to contact me with information.”

The suspect is described as a white man of a slim build and around six foot tall. He was wearing a dark green hooded top and jeans with white paint on.

He covered his face with a black balaclava.
