Police have released a new image of a missing man from Tring taken a day before he disappeared.

The image is from the CCTV camera in Sainsburys in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead.

It shows Simon Brookfield going into the shop at 7.22am on Wednesday 9th October.

He then left his family home at around 1:30am on Thursday 10th October.

Hearts spoken to his childhood friend Stuart Clarke who says he won't give up hope on finding Simon:

"His wife and myself got in the car the other night, we were then out till 1:30 the next morning we went to 20 different churches looking in the porches because someone thought they saw someone sleeping rough in a church porch."

The 52 year old had been suffering from depression but his family insist his disappearance is out of character.

Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins, who is leading the search for missing Simon, said:

“We are conducting a thorough investigation into Simon’s diappearance. We are hoping that these latest images will jog people’s memories as we continue our search for Simon.

"It has been just over a week since Simon’s disappearance and we are becoming increasingly concerned for Simon with every hour that passes, I am urging anyone with information on Simon’s whereabouts – to contact us. Simon, if you see this, please let us and your family know you are ok.

“We are continuing to conduct a thorough investigation into Simon’s disappearance and we have extended to Hampshire, where our colleagues there have also been involved in a search for him as the New Forest is a favourite place for Simon to visit. I would urge anyone with any information at all to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency on 101.”
