Police are appealing for witnesses and information after two cars were set alight deliberately on Thursday, January 13 in Hemel Hempstead.

The incident occurred in Peascroft Road at around 5.30pm when two cars, a silver Mercedes and a red Toyota, were set alight after a substance, possibly petrol, had been poured over them.

Detective Constable Andrew Roseblade said: “This is a seemingly unprovoked attack and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about what happened to contact police. Do you know someone who came home smelling of something like petrol? Were you in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious?”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Roseblade on 0845 3300 222. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, an independent charity, on 0800 555 111. You do not have to give your name and could be entitled to a cash reward.
