Police in South Oxhey have made an appeal a week after a 12 year-old girl was robbed by two men.

Police handed out appeal fliers and spoke to members of the public in South Oxhey on Saturday, in an attempt to get more information.

The girl was robbed at around a 9.15 am last Saturday morning (16th March) as she walked on the public footpath that leads from The Highlands to Hayling Road between the gym equipment and the children's play area.

Two men walked by and then turned around and grabbed her bag. During the struggle the girl fell over and suffered grazes to her hands and face.

They made off with the bag in the direction of the Highlands. Both are described as wearing hooded tops and tracksuit bottoms.

PC Sam Floyd, who is investigating the incident told Heart: "It will be one week on from this despicable robbery on a young girl which has left her feeling very shaken and has outraged the community. We hope by having this anniversary appeal that we can encourage more witnesses to come forward. I would urge anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in the area at the time or who may have seen them running along Gosforth Lane or in the Highlands, to contact us immediately on 101."
