Police are asking a group of girls to come forward - following an incident of suspected dangerous driving in Borehamwood.

It's alleged to have happened in Eldon Avenue at around 10.15pm on Friday, January 7th. It's thought a Ford Transit van reversed quickly along the road and almost collided with a young girl, who managed to run out of the way.

It's alleged the driver then went around the roundabout, back on to Eldon Avenue, crossed over to the wrong side of the road, went up on the kerb and nearly collided with a group of girls.

PC Greg Thompson from the Borehamwood Neighbourhood Team said:

"I am looking to identify the group of girls that crossed Eldon Avenue that night and in particular the girl that was nearly struck down by the reversing van. I am also looking for any other witnesses that may have seen the actions of the van driver.

"If you believe you have any information, please call me via the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

An 18-year-old man from Radlett has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been released on bail.
