Watford General Hospital have won their bid for half a million pounds to improve maternity services.
They're one of over a hundred hospitals in England to receive a share of £25 million of government funding for improvements to maternity care.
Nora Lucy is a consultant midwife at the hospital, she told Heart some of the money is going to be spent on refurbishing the Alexander Birthing Centre
But they also want to develop a new bereavement room for parents that have experienced a loss in pregnancy or have had a child born with an unexpected condition.
Nora Lucy said:
"To have a nice room with couches and even nice curtains and colourful walls can help in these situations so part of the money is going towards the bereavement services"
Breastfeeding facilities are also going to benefit from this money.
The kitchen area, where there are breastfeeding supervisors on hand, is going to be refurbished.
Nora told Heart they want to get to work straight away and all the improvements should be complete by the end of April.
