Police are trying to find a man who touched a woman inappropriately in an alleyway in Watford on Friday (20th) afternoon.

It happened at around 5.30pm in the alley running from Radlett Road towards Trinity Hall Close. The victim screamed and the man ran off into Pankhurst Place.

The suspect is described as an Asian man, aged in his mid-30s, 5ft 10ins tall and with short black flat hair. He was wearing a black coat, black trousers and shoes and was carrying a blue and grey lunch bag.

Detective Constable Gareth Jackson is investigating and said: “Thankfully the victim was not injured but understandably is extremely shocked by what has happened.

“It is believed the offender followed the victim from Ebury Road and along Radlett Road and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the offender prior too or after the incident to contact police. I would also like to hear from anyone who may recognise the description of the man to call.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Jackson via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C1/12/1901. Alternatively call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. You do not have to give your name and could be entitled to a cash reward.
