An intruder who raped, sexually assaulted and physically attacked a woman in her own bedroom in Milton Keynes has been jailed for 15 years.
David Billington, 21, broke into the woman's home in Bradville at 7.30 on the morning of Sunday 1 July 2012 and placed pillowcase over his head.
He went into the 50 year old's bedroom, woke her and carried out the attack, which lasted for half an hour.
When Billington left, the victim alerted a relative, who called the police and ambulance. She suffered bruising to all areas of her body.
Billington of Angel Close, Pennylands, Milton Keynes was found guilty of two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault. He was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday 22 February 2013.
Detective Sergeant Luke Grove from Thames Valley Police said: "This was a horrific case which left the victim traumatised. We must praise the enormous dignity and bravery that has been shown by the victim and her family during the most trying of circumstances.
"I am pleased for the victim that justice has been done and Billington will be behind bars or under licence for a very long time."
