Lorry Crash Death

A person's died after an M1 crash that saw a lorry turn over at the Newport Pagnell Services.

The crash happened southbound at 4.26pm on Sunday 4 August 2013 when a white Mercedes Benz lorry hit the central reservation under the pedestrian bridge that links the two sides of the service area.

The lorry also struck a blue Ford Focus car.

Thames Valley Police have told Heart the driver of the lorry, a 54-year-old man from Kent, died at the scene.  Two other people who were also in the lorry are believed to have suffered minor injuries.

The crash led to the closure of part of the M1 for a time.
