Shoppers may be diverted around Central MK today and tomorrow as roads close for the first MK Cycling Festival.
The National Youth Circuit Race Series will be held on Saturday (7th June) starting at 10am.
The racing will continue throughout the day along Silbury Boulevard, Avebury Boulevard and Grafton Gate which will be closed on both days.
A race for everyone to take part in will then happen on Sunday (8th June) from 1-3:30pm on Midsummer Boulevard when anyone who wants to cycle the route is welcome to take part.
Time trial teams and local business teams will also compete on the Sunday in a series of races along the same route.
Other activities and displays going on throughout the weekend including:
• Time trial cyclist display shows doing stunts
• ‘Funzone’ area with inflatable football goal and other games
• Outdoor fun bike area including mini bikes and the ‘unrideable’ bike
• Bouncy castle
• Competitions and prizes
• The Watt bike challenge– a game where two people race each other on static bikes
• MK Dons
• Bike hire
