Eight passengers have had a lucky escape after their bus caught fire in Milton Keynes.

A Number 2 service from Newport Pagnell to Westcroft caught fire at the Medbourne Roundabout close to Crownhill and Grange Farm at 1.35pm on Wednesday 9 January 2013.

The driver of the Arriva bus service told Heart that there were eight or nine passengers on board and as they approached the roundabout one of them told him there was smoke coming from the back of the bus.

He stopped on the roundabout and managed to get everyone off safely before it was engulfed in flames.

The driver was later seen coughing at the roadside.  Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire and Rescue were on the scene soon after the fire took hold.
