Strangled Man Named

Police have named an elderly man found strangled at a house on Milton Keynes' Bancroft Park estate.

The body of John Sampford, 83, was discovered at a house on Spoonley Wood at 6.30am on Friday 5 July 2013.

A post mortem examination revealed that he died as a result of strangulation.

A 75-year-old woman who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder has been released on bail, and told to report back to police on 2 August 2013.

Thames Valley Police have told Heart they are treating the circumstances of the death as suspicious, and a detailed case file is being prepared for submission to the Crown Prosecution Service.
