Trading Standards in Milton Keynes are telling Heart they are now looking into the Winter Wonderland MK fiasco.
The event in Campbell Park was closed on Sunday after just one day.
It opened on Saturday but within hours there were complaints on social media from parents who said their children had been left upset by what was on offer.
Dean's three children were disappointed to be told Santa's Grotto had closed due to "technical problems"
He said, "The Santa that they did have walking around looked like he was in a very cheap fancy dress outfit that was gaping at the top, you could see the clothes, you could see the black elastic holding his beard on; quite young guy with no real people skills or children skills."
Today Heart has spoken to Trading Standards in Milton Keynes. They've confirmed they are investigating.
Karen Ford told Heart, "What we do ask is for members of the public to report through to the Trading Standards number (0845) 404 0506 and if they did have concerns about the event that they visited on the day and they have anything to report they can report those concerns to us then we can look into it a little bit further because we need that information and evidence. Also by ringing that number, if people haven't managed to obtain their refund at that point, then they can get some advice on how they're able to get their money back."
We've also heard from MK Ice today. They say they will honour bookings people made for the ice-skating at Winter Wonderland MK.
They say, "Dave Fairhurst, Chairman of MKICE, is sad to hear of the demise of Winter Wonderland. He recognises the effect that this will have on many families, especially the children, who were looking forward to a magical time on ice. MKICE are a ‘not for profit’ ice rink in the heart of Milton Keynes and have no connection whatsoever with Winter Wonderland. However, in the spirit of community and Christmas, MKICE are offering to honour any bookings made at Winter Wonderland. We have already been contacted by Milton Keynes Girl Guides Association and we are happy that we have been able to meet their Christmas requirements to get them on ice later this week. We ask for anyone to contact us on our phone number 01908 673255, where we will honour your tickets and give you free time on our ice rink."
