Train disruption on West Coast Mainline

29 August 2010, 06:00

If you're planning on taking the train today (Sunday) you might end up on a rail replacement bus instead.

They're being put on because of engineering work on the West Coast Mainline. It's being going on since yesterday but will cause the most disruption today.

London Midland has issued the following information about the disruption:

A special half hourly train service will run between London Euston and Watford Junction until 9pm.

Up until midday rail replacement buses will run between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central / Northampton.

From midday to 9pm rail replacement buses will run between Watford Junction and Tring / Milton Keynes Central, with a special hourly train service operating between Tring and Northampton.

After 9pm trains will operate between Euston and Northampton but to an amended timetable.

Train services between London Euston and Crewe will operate between Milton Keynes Central and Crewe only and will not call at Northampton.

Virgin Trains won't be stopping at Milton Keynes throughout the day on Sunday. If you need to take one of their services to the north / west midlands you will need to make your way to Rugby, where trains are running from.
